We have investigated separation characteristics of experimental charged ultrafiltration membranes based on aromatic polyamide PA-100(+), PA-100(−), and membrane PA-10 modified by the solutions of sodium dodecylsulfate of various concentrations. The method of differential scanning calorimetry was used to study the state of the water in initial and modified membranes. It has been found that the treatment of the membranes PA-100(+) and PA-100(−) with the solutions of sodium dodecylsulfate results in an increase of their hydrophilicity. Concurrently one can observe minor variations of separation characteristics of the PA-100(−) membrane. In the case of the PA-10 membrane there occurs hydrophobization of the surface and the porous space, which substantially affects its separation characteristics.
